YTD (Year to date)

The end of our Green Valley Illini Club year was March 31, 2008, and the beginning of a new exciting year follows: You may ask: What happened? Maybe you didn’t, but read on!

(*) Regarding the non-payment of dues. If late due payments ($15) are received prior to April 30, 2008, names will not be purged from the mailing list.

Ahead of us for the 2008-09 year will be a summer picnic event (catered), and social programs in November, February and March. Certainly game watches will be interspersed into the club year as details become known.

The Alumni Association recently mailed out a list of events that have been programmed by other clubs. Here is an abbreviated list. Look it over and call Noble Rose @ 648-7207 if something has appeal to you and/or you are knowledgeable about arranging such a program. Diversity of programming will be to the advantage of the club.

• Baseball outings
• Bus trips to Big Ten events
• Champagne and Jazz brunch
• Comedy Club outings
• Golf outings
• Holiday parties
• Nature tour
• Planetarium outing (here it could be Kitt Peak, Mt. Hopkins, the U of A mirror lab etc)
• Private home cocktail hour (The club has done this before - anyone willing to offer their home for an event of 30 to 35?)
• Symphony concert outing
  
• Theater outing

• Winning the Outstanding Alumni Club award for 2007 in the Small Club category.
  
• Well-attended and enjoyable social programs.
  
• Advance planning of social programs to be offered in August and November of 2008 and February and March of 2009.
  
• Our fun Game Watch programs, even when we loose in overtime.
  
• Our club's surviving--thriving, really--for 23 years.
